About Cindy

 A first generation Australian with Sri Lankan heritage. Singer Songwriter Cindy Tanfield tells her story of growing up in suburban Melbourne, amidst the vast musical  and cultural landscape of Australia longslide that of her homeland.

It was immediately clear that held a passion for music sparked by her first performance at age four on the makeshift stage of her father's kitchen chair, belting out a heartfelt rendition of  Jennifer Rush's 'Power of Love'.

Cindy was able to hone her vocal skills as a member of the Holy family Catholic Choir in Doveton, and progressed to the 'St.John's singers at St. John's Regional College Dandenong.

From the age of 16 she took up formal vocal training and later polished her stagecraft through frequently singing and performing at various venues.

With influences from such artists as Jennifer Rush, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Rick Price and Michael Bolton just to name a few, this charismatic and engaging artist has become a crowd favourite at Open Mic nightsand performing solo gigs at different venues around Melbourne bringing audiences to their feet with standing ovations.

In 2021, Cindy took the opportunity to nurture her craft further by attending masterclasses and one-on-one tuition with award winning singer songwriter and producer Rick Price.

During this time Cindy has began writing her story in song. Rick has continued to mentor Cindy through her songwriting journey and together the two have prepared original material recorded in Nashville Tennessee with award winning legends in the music industry such as Fred Eltringham on drums (Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson) and Dennis Crouch on Acoustic Bass (Robert Plant and Diana Krall).

Cindy's debut album a collection of country, rock and pop tracks is due for release in late 2024. Until then you can see Cindy Perform these songs solo at coming events.
